Foundation In den Vreemde was founded by writer and activist Mies Bouhuys (1927-2008).
In den Vreemde supports artists, intellectuals and journalists, scientists and activists who for reasons of race, religious beliefs or sexual orientation are not permitted free expression of their art or ideas.
